When your pet needs a little extra love…
Vet visits. Travel. Fireworks. Moving house. Changes in routine. Settling into a new home. Night-time anxiety. Recovery after surgery. Or those times when your pet simply seems a little out of sorts and you'd like to give them some extra support.
The Pet Project offers gentle distant energy-healing sessions for animals… without them having to go anywhere, meet anyone new or even get off their favourite sofa.
Your pet stays at home. I work remotely. They are free to sleep, wander around, eat their dinner or do whatever they would ordinarily be doing while I work.
I've given sessions to cats, dogs, hamsters and mice so far. But all creatures welcome.
How can a session help?
First of all, nothing needs to be “wrong” with your pet to book a session. We treat ourselves to a spa day, why not do the same for our pets?
However, here are some instances where treatments are very helpful…
✅ You’re going to the vets and the minute your cat sees the carrier she disappears under the bed…
A treatment before the journey, focused on alleviating anxiety can prevent “the carrier dread”, help her feel calmer and more confident to go on a trip.
✅ Your dog gets irritable whenever your brother comes over…
Treatments can help your four legged friend feel safe and secure while somebody else is in their territory.
✅ Your cat or dog turns into a trembling wreck when the fireworks start…
Treatments beforehand can help them to feel calm and secure before the noise begins.
✅ You're moving house and your pet's entire known universe is disappearing into cardboard boxes…
Treatments in advance of the move will support them to feel more at ease during the transition period.
✅ Your pet is coming home after surgery…
Treatments can speed up recovery time and provide gentle energetic support alongside their veterinary care while they recover.
What happens in a session?
The lovely thing about distant work is that your animal doesn't need to do anything.
There's no Zoom call for your Labrador.
Your cat doesn't need to cooperate.
Your hamster does not need to clear her diary.
You send me the information I need beforehand and your pet gets on with their day while I do the session remotely.
I'll work energetically with them and afterwards we touch base to talk about how the session went.
Most importantly…
You don't have to wait until your pet is distressed to book a treatment.
If you know a potentially stressful event is coming up, we can work together beforehand to bypass the distress in advance.
How The Pet Project Began
Hint: My name is Dusty and I am rather shy…
and HATE going to the vets…
I was doing my Medical Qi Gong training and there was a bonus module on learning to work energetically with animals. I was learning cat and dog anatomy as well as their chakra systems and how their energy orbits differently to humans…
and something funny started happening…
without having any idea that I was studing animal communication…
Friends started asking me if I would talk to their pets.
Could you have a little check-in with Jeff? He's not quite himself lately…
Do you get anything from Dolly?
Could you give Steve a treatment, he’s been very yappy since we moved house…
I had no idea that a bonus module of my training could gradually become a meaningful strand of my work…
It felt destined.
For much of my life I was a lot closer to animals than humans.
It felt like work I was made for… It felt like second nature…
but it couldn’t be an actual job, could it?
It was an ordinary trip to the vet with my own two cats that made me realise how incredibly useful this work can be.
Vet visit day with the lads used to be an ORDEAL.
They just kneeeeeew! Getting them into their carriers was a nightmare. Loud meowing. Anxiety. Peeing and pooping in the carrier. And then I would get anxious, and that DID NOT help them, and by the time we arrived at the vet everybody was on high doh.
The morning of our most recent vet visit, I'd just finished doing an energy treatment on myself (completely unrelated to the impending vet visit) when I thought:
Hang on. Why don't I give them treatments to alleviate their distress?
So before we left, I gave them a quick session with the intention to help them to feel calmer.
And the difference was UNBELIEVABLE. It worked like a charm.
They weren't suddenly delighted to be going to the vet… they're cats after all… but the usual level of distress just wasn't there. Getting them into their carriers was effortless. The journey was calmer. The appointment was absolutely fine. There was no pee or poop.
And I came home thinking:
I have to make this available to other people’s animals too.
And here we are, The Pet Project was born.
