The Intuition Mission: Five Doorways to Hearing Yourself More Clearly
This is not going to be a 5 step guide to better intuition.
I don’t think you need that.
I do think you need opportunities to sweep away the chatter and hear yourself more clearly.
We all do, on the daily.
Intuition isn't something reserved for the chosen few. It's not only for psychics, mystics, crystal collectors, or folks who have somehow managed to eliminate all noise and uncertainty from their lives… you know, the enlightened ones who have agreed to hang out earth-side.
You already have it, it’s just that there’s an awful lot of stuff between you and it.
Fear. Anger. Anxiety. Doubt. Heaviness.
Other people's opinions.
The thing everybody expects you to do.
Old conditioning.
Old habits.
Good ideas.
And somewhere behind all of that is the voice, the nudges of the intelligence of your own body, instincts and inner knowing.
Intuition Mission is a nine-day experiment tune in to that again.
Nine days might not seem like a lot, but nine days is enough time to start paying attention again.
Your inner landscape is leaving your clues…
One of the bodies of wisdom that has profoundly influenced the way I understand our inner worlds is Five Element theory.
In Chinese medicine and Daoist cosmology, we're not separate from nature. The same movements and cycles we see in the natural world are happening within us.
As within, so without…
And our emotions aren't glitches in the system.
They're part of it.
SO if you’re in a sticky place emotionally, it just means that you need to take a moment to tune back in again…
This is a very different OS to the idea that there’s something “wrong” with us.
What if fear doesn't mean you're doind the wrong thing?
What if anger isn't proof that you're being unreasonable?
What if anxiety isn't something you have to eradicate before you can take your next step?
What if doubt doesn't automatically mean no?
What if heaviness isn't evidence that you’ve failed?
What if they're all invitations to tune in differently?
This is where I've started thinking about what I call the opportunities or the Five Doorways.
But first: befriend…
Before the five opportunities, there's an essential first step.
Befriend yourself.
Because if every uncomfortable emotion immediately becomes another reason to give yourself shit, it becomes very difficult to, well, be a person...
Intuition requires intimacy with yourself.
And intimacy requires an open heart.
So we're not going into the inner landscape armed with a clipboard, looking for evidence that we’re fucked up…
We’re looking for evidence of… alrightness, of okayness…
We're getting curious.
What's here?
What is it showing me?
What happens when I just let what is… be?
That shift alone changes things.
This is the first step in my free program ROCKSTAR MOVES…
Because, my love, kindness is the ultimate rockstar move, mk!
And from there, we can start moving through the doorways.
Fear: a doorway to wisdom
Fear is associated with the Water element.
And we don’t overcome it by becoming fearless.
Fear can be extraordinarily intelligent. It can protect us. It can alert us. It can also become tangled up with memories, conditioning and imagined futures.
It can tell us absolutely crazy scary stories.
So rather than asking yourself…
How do I get rid of this?
I want you to try this out….
If I look deep past the fog of this scary story, what might be there for me?
Wisdom is the willingness to move regardless, we don’ t need to know all the details, we just need to take the next step.
Even on a foggy day, the next step is visible.
Sometimes intuition whispers go while fear screams absolutely fucking not.
Learning to recognise both voices is part of the work.
Anger: a doorway to compassion
Anger can be incredibly clear.
It tells us when something matters.
When a boundary has been crossed.
When something feels unjust.
When we've betrayed ourselves.
But anger can also show us where something hurts.
And that's where I think its deeper opportunity lies.
Compassion.
The kind that allows you to understand what your anger is illuminating.
What does this part of me care about so fiercely?
What has been wounded?
What needs acknowledging?
What would change if I could just be angry without judging myself, or somebody else, for it?
Anger doesn't have to harden us.
Handled differently, it can be incredibly mobilising.
Anxiety: a doorway to inner harmony
Anxiety can pull us in seventeen directions at once. It has a very frazzled energy to it.
We’re in the future. We’re imagining other peoples opinions. We’re thinking worst-case scenarios. We’re imagining futures and decisions that may never materialise… conversations nobody has actually had.
It’s noisy and it can also be absolutely stultifying.
The work isn't to make all of that noise disappear.
It's to learn how to find your true voice inside it.
Inner harmony doesn't mean every part of you agrees.
It means you're able to hear the different parts without allowing whichever one is shouting loudest to take over.
Interrogate harsh words by asking, is this the only truth there is?
Get out into the world and feel the fresh air on your face, move your body, have a dance break.
Anxiety become an invitation to gather your scattered senses.
To come home to yourself.
Doubt: a doorway to wild faith
Doubt is interesting because we so often assume it means don't.
But doubt is foggy too.
Sometimes it appears because we're extended past our edge, we’ve expanded, maybe we’re making new moves.
New is interesting.
Especially when there’s no recipe.
Often, in life, there’s no recipe. You noticed that?!
This is where you get to be the one to decide that your next move works in your favour.
That is where wild faith comes in.
Not blind faith.
Not pretending you aren't scared.
Not forcing yourself to believe something you don't.
Wild faith is the willingness to take the next step when you cannot see the entire path.
You can doubt yourself and still move.
You can have questions and still fly.
You can feel deeply uncertain and still recognise that something inside you keeps pointing this way.
Self-trust doesn’t have to feel like certainty.
Sometimes it's being willing to find out and knowing you’ve got your back anyway.
Heaviness: a doorway to integrity
Heaviness gets treated as something we need to get rid of very quickly.
We want to feel lighter. More motivated. More positive. More energised.
But heaviness can be a real truth teller.
In one of my old jobs I would leave every day feeling so heavy, so tired, I could barely entertain the thought of having to do it again the next day.
Sometimes it appears when we're carrying too much.
Sometimes when we're living in a way that is profoundly out of step with what we actually want.
For me it was actually the environment I was working in, there was a TON of stagnant energy. You could feel it when you walked into the office. It dragged you down immediately.
Nothing was ever going to make me feel light there.
This is why I see heaviness as a doorway to integrity.
It made me choose my wellbeing and ultimately leave.
It made me listen to… my intuition. My instinct.
Ask yourself:
Where am I saying yes when I mean no?
Where am I trying to make myself be ok with something that feels off to me?
Where has my life not caught up with what actually matters to me right now?
Integrity isn't about getting things perfect.
It's about becoming less divided inside yourself.
And sometimes the heaviness is the part of you that knows you've wandered too far from... you got it, your in-tuition.
The Intuition Mission will go live in late September!
