Energy Healing for Cats Before a Vet Visit: What Happened With My Two Cats

If you have a cat who hates the vet, you probably know that the appointment isn't the only problem.

There's the carrier.

My cats only have to see theirs and they know.

Suddenly we're engaged in a hostage negotiation with an animal who has disappeared behind a piece of furniture and developed approximately seventeen additional limbs.

By the time we actually arrive at the vet, everybody is stressed.

So as my Medical Qigong training began expanding into working with animals, I became curious:

What would happen if I worked energetically with my cats before the stressful thing happened?

Working with the anxiety before the journey

Rather than waiting until we were already in the middle of carrier drama, I started giving my cats distant energy healing beforehand.

The lovely thing about working energetically with animals is that they don't have to participate in the way we usually understand participation.

They don't have to lie still.

They don't have to understand what's happening.

They don't even have to be particularly interested in me.

They're free to cat.

I work remotely.

What I noticed

The experience made me start thinking differently about the way we support animals through stressful events.

We tend to intervene once the stressful thing is already happening.

The carrier comes out.

The fireworks start.

The removal van arrives.

A stranger comes into the house.

Then we try to calm the animal down.

But what if support could begin before the event?

That's what became interesting to me.

Not trying to force my cats into a state of calm, but offering energetic support before they encountered something I already knew they found difficult.

And then I started thinking about other animals

Once I started working with my own cats, the obvious question was:

Could I do this for other people's animals too?

So I experimented.

I've now given sessions to cats, dogs, hamsters and mice, and I've become increasingly fascinated by the possibilities of distant energy work for animals.

Vet visits.

Travel.

Fireworks.

Moving house.

A new person or animal joining the family.

Recovery after veterinary treatment.

All those moments when we wish we could explain to an animal:

You're safe. Something unusual is happening, but you're safe.

We can't always explain it in words.

But perhaps words aren't our only means of communication.

How The Pet Project began

This experimentation eventually became The Pet Project — the part of Fredereka devoted to distant energy healing for animals and their humans.

It's still one of the things I love most about this work:

Your animal doesn't need to go anywhere.

I don't need to come into their territory.

They can stay on their favourite chair, under the bed, in the garden or wherever they feel safest.

And I can meet them there energetically.
